Lenovo has forayed into smart home territory by introducing two new devices in India. It includes a digital clock called Lenovo Smart Clock and a Smart Display for controlling the home. Earlier today, Google announced the Nest Hub smart display in India. Let’s take a look below at Lenovo’s latest smart home devices:
Lenovo Smart Clock:
The Lenovo Smart Clock is a 4-inch digital clock with a touch screen and a built-in Google Assistant. The device is designed to help users develop healthy sleeping habits. Similar to the Google Nest Hub, users can set up sleep routines easily like dimming the lights and displaying calendar events by using the ‘Ok Google, Goodnight’ voice command.
The Lenovo Smart Clock flaunts a full fabric soft-touch cover that blends with bedroom decor. The display shows information like time and alarms, upcoming meetings, calendar events, weather information, and album information when playing music. The device is equipped with 6W speakers for listening to music, audiobooks, podcasts and the radio. The Lenovo Smart Clock is compatible with Chromecast that lets user’s stream TV shows and music by using voice commands. When not in use, the Lenovo Smart Clock turns the display into a digital photo album displaying pictures from the Google Photos account. There is also an optional setting for a continued conversation to allow a natural back-and-forth conversation with Google Assistant in the English language. After a user initially triggers the Google Assistant with a request, Assistant will stay active long enough to respond to follow up questions. This ensures users don’t have to say “Ok Google” each time. The Smart Clock also works with most cameras that work with Assistant, so users can see who is outside the front door on the device.
Lenovo Smart Display:
The Lenovo Smart Display sports a 10-inch touchscreen display panel bearing FHD resolution. The device flaunts a minimalistic design and is available in a natural bamboo finish that can match most wooden, glass or granite worktops, according to the brand. The device can perform all the smart tasks that smart speakers can. It also functions as a single hub to control smart home devices. On its 10-inch screen, the smart display can pull up YouTube videos, answers powered by Google search and other information at glance like calendar, reminders, and shopping lists.
The Lenovo Smart Display is powered by the Qualcomm Home Hub Platform based on Snapdragon 624 paired with 2GB RAM. On the audio front, it is equipped with dual 10W full-range speakers and two passive tweeters. The device also features a 5MP wide-angle camera for video calling purposes on Google Duo. Users can conveniently position the device horizontally or vertically.
Like the Smart Clock, the Lenovo Smart Display can function as a digital picture frame and connect to smart lights, security cameras and more. Both the Lenovo Smart Clock and Display are compatible with over 10,000 products from over 1,000 partners and brands.

The Lenovo Smart Clock is priced at Rs 5,999, while the Smart Display carries a price tag of Rs 14,999.
