Lenovo has launched the second generation of its Tab M7 and Tab M8. Both these tablets are budget offerings with the Tab M7 being the more affordable of the two. Both laptops are designed for family and flaunt LTE, impressive battery backup, pre-loaded Netflix and 2MP front-facing cameras as their highlights. Let’s take a look at what the two devices offer out of the box:
The Lenovo Tab M7 and M8 are encased in a premium metal cover surrounded by slim bezels. The former offers a 7-inch screen with 1,024 x 600 pixels resolution while the latter comes with an 8-inch HD display. The devices come with a blue light filter to help reduce eye strain. Both the Tab M7 and M8 can be availed in Iron Grey, Platinum Grey, and Onyx Black colour options.
On the hardware front, the Tab M7 is equipped with a MediaTek MT8765B quad-core processor. The tablet is being offered in two configurations 1GB RAM + 8GB storage and 2GB RAM + 16GB / 32GB storage. The base model with 1GB RAM runs on the Android Go edition.
The Tab M8 on the other hand houses a MediaTek A22 chipset with up to 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Software-wise, both the tablets run on Android 9 Pie. The Tab M7 is backed by a 3,500mAh battery unit while the M8 draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit. Both the Lenovo tablets come with Kids Mode 3.0 that curates content for kids based on age and interests.
The Tab M7 is fitted with 2MP camera sensors on the front and rear. The Tab M8 features a 5MP rear camera and 2MP front snapper. Connectivity options on both the tablets include Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5,0 and GPS.
Pricing & Availability:
The price of Lenovo Tab M7 and Tab M8 starts at $89 (~Rs 6,387) and $109 (~Rs 7,825) for the base variants. The Tab M8 is also offered in FHD variant that will be available for $159 (~Rs 11,414). Lenovo says that all of these Android tablets are expected to be available starting in October 2019.
