Lenovo ThinkPad T490, X390, P43s and P1 (Gen 2) launched in India: price, specifications

Lenovo today launched a series of ThinkPad laptops, including the ThinkPad T490, X390, P43s and P1 (Gen 2). Let’s take a look at what they offer.

Lenovo ThinkPad T490 and ThinkPad X390 specifications

The Lenovo ThinkPad T490 is a laptop designed for professionals and thus features a sleek yet sturdy body. The laptop weighs only 1.46Kg and is just 17.9mm thin across the chassis. Lenovo announced that the display of the T490 flaunts 22 percent slimmer bezels than last year’s models and measures 14-inches. The company is offering the laptop in three display types – WQHD IPS display featuring support for Dolby Vision, an FHD IPS panel and an HD IPS panel. The FHD IPS model is also being offered in Touch and PrivacyGuard models. For audio, the laptop features Dolby Audio Premium-tuned dual up-firing speakers.

 

As for performance, the Lenovo ThinkPad T490 ships with up to 8th-gen Intel Core i7 processors with integrated vPro security. In terms of graphics, there is an option to choose between integrated Intel Graphics 620 or Nvidia’s dedicated MX 250 graphics card. The laptop can be configured with up to 48GB DDR4 RAM and up to 1TB PCIe SSD storage. Other features include Match-on-Chip fingerprint sensor, IR camera with ThinkShutter camera cover, ThinkPad PrivacyGuard, PrivacyAlert feature and 50Whr battery. Connectivity features include two USB 3.1 ports, one USB Type-C port, one HDMI port, one Thunderbolt port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC.

The ThinkPad X390, on the other hand, is a 13.3-inch laptop being offered in Full HD IPS and HD IPS panels, with former being offered in Touch and PrivacyGuard variants as well. It can be configured with up to 32GB RAM and has a smaller 48Whr battery. The rest of the spec sheet and features are the same as the T490.

Lenovo ThinkPad P43s and ThinkPad P1 (Gen 2) specifications

The brand claims that the ThinkPad P43s is one of the smallest and lightest portable workstations that are available in the market today. The laptop is being offered in the same display sizes and variants as the ThinkPad T490. The screen also supports 100 percent Adobe colour gamut and Dolby Vision HDR technology. Lenovo is offering the workstation with up to an 8th-Gen Intel Core i7 with vPro processor accompanied by NVIDIA Quadro P520 GPU. The processor is backed by up to 48GB RAM and up to 2TBPCIe SSD storage. All other features are identical to the ThinkPad T490 including the battery and connectivity ports.

The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 (Gen 2) is the more powerful version of the P43s with up to 9th-Gen Intel Xeon or up to 9th-Gen Intel Core i9 processors with NVIDIA Quadro T2000 discrete graphics to support Client AI. The RAM and storage can be configured up to 64GB and up to 4TB NVMe SSD. The display measures 15.6-inch and is being offered in 4K Touch OLED, 4K LCD, and FHD variants up to 500nits peak brightness and Dolby Vision HDR. Other features include 80WHr battery, Dolby Atmos Speaker System and Wi-Fi 6. The rest of its spec sheet is largely similar to the ThinkPad T490.

Lenovo ThinkPad T490, ThinkPad P43s and ThinkPad P1 (Gen 2) price in India

The Lenovo ThinkPad T490 is listed on the official website of the brand with a starting price of Rs 1,03,995. The Lenovo P43s starts at Rs 1,48,505, whereas the Lenovo P1 (Gen 2) retails from Rs 1,87,891. There’s no word on the pricing of the ThinkPad X390 as of now.
