Lenovo Yoga Book 2-in-1 Tablet With Chrome OS Arriving In 2017

Last week, Lenovo released its ultra-slim 2-in-1 tablet dubbed Yoga Book in India. The device comes in two variants — Windows and Android. A recent report suggests that Lenovo is also gearing up to unveil the Chrome OS variant sometime next year. If the report is true, Lenovo will soon be having one more (Chrome OS) variant under its Yoga Book lineup beside existing Windows and Android variants.

lenovo-yoga-bookLenovo’s Jeff Meredith, who is the Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Android and Chrome Computing Business Group, was quoted in a report. Meredith, in his interview for Tom’s Guide Innovation Award, confirmed that the Lenovo Yoga Book with Chrome OS will arrive in 2017.

“It’s an interesting idea for education, especially with the form factor,” says Jeff Meredith.

As far as specifications go, the Lenovo Yoga Book flaunts a massive 10.1-inch Full HD screen up front covered by Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Powering the gadget is a quad-core Intel Atom X5 processor running inside, which is clocked at 2.4GHz. Assisting the processor is 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage, expandable up to 128GB by means of a microSD card.

This is a single (Nano) SIM supported device which is equipped by Dolby Atmos surround sound technology. It weighs 690g and comes with the standard connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The Lenovo Yoga Book packs in an 8500mAh battery under the hood, which is claimed to offer up to 15 hours backup.

The Lenovo Yoga Book is paired with a Halo keyboard which has a digitizer beneath it. It comes with two types of styluses — a regular one with real ink and a digitizer. To get into the digitizer mode, a key combination will come handy. Once used, it will take you into a respective note-taking app depending on the OS your Lenovo Yoga Book is running.

It also bundles a physical notepad having a magnetic connector at the bottom. The notepad then goes on top of the Yoga Book digitizer. The stylus with a real ink judges the amount of pressure applied using a spring mechanism. The digitizer then can sense the user feedback with the help of a magnetic connector.
