Lenovo Z5s with Snapdragon 710 and Triple Cameras Launched in China

Lenovo has announced the Lenovo Z5s smartphone at an event in China. After the Lenovo Z5 Pro that was announced in November, the Lenovo Z5s is the second Snapdragon 710 SoC fueled smartphone from the company. The handset features a triple camera unit which resembles the Huawei P20 Pro’s rear camera setup in appearance.

Design and Display

The Lenovo Z5s measures 156.7 x 74.5 x 7.85mm and weighs 172 grams. The smartphone is fitted with 6000-series aluminum frame. The glass rear panel comes with Corning Gorilla Glass and a P2i coating for splash-resistance. The 6.3-inch IPS LCD display of the phone offers a 92.6 percent screen-to-body ratio, full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

Performance and Software

The Snapdragon 710 SoC drives the smartphone, which comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM versions. The handset comes in two storage variants of 64GB and 128GB, and a microSD card is available for further expansion. The 3,300mAh battery features support for 15W fast charging.

It comes loaded with Android 9 Pie, which is customised with Lenovo’s ZUI 10 proprietary software.

Cameras and Other Features

The back panel of the Lenovo Z5s has a triple camera unit which includes an f/1.8 16-megapixel primary sensor, f/2.4 8-megapixel secondary sensor and a f/2.4 5-megapixel third sensor. The cameras come with dual-tone LED flash, 2x optical zoom and Ultra HD video recording. There is a 16-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture on the front of the Lenovo Z5s.

The Lenovo Z5s offers connectivity features such as dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm audio jack. The handset also carries support for face recognition through the front-facing camera.

Pricing and Availability

The 64GB storage + 4GB RAM, 64GB storage + 6GB RAM and 128GB storage + 6GB RAM editions of the Lenovo Z5s are priced at 1,398 Yuan (~Rs 14,500), 1,598 Yuan (~Rs 16,500) and 1,898 Yuan (~Rs 19,500) respectively. The smartphone is now on pre-order in China, and official sales will kick off from December 24th. Apart from Starry Night Black, the handset can be bought in gradient colors like Love Orange and Titanium Blue.

Lenovo Z5s Zhu Yilong Custom Edition

Lenovo has also launched a Z5s Zhu Yilong Custom Edition, which will start shipping on January 12th. It carries a price tag of 1,998 Yuan (~Rs 20,500). Lenovo did not confirm the international availability of the Lenovo Z5s smartphone.
