Last year, Lenovo launched the Z5 budget Android smartphone in China to take on Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 in the country. The smartphone received a good response from consumers in China, thanks to its attractive design and impressive hardware. Lenovo is now planning to launch a direct successor to the Z5 in China very soon. Lenovo Vice President Chang Cheng today shared the first images showing the upcoming Z6 in a brown color option.
Lenovo Z6 May Soon Take on the Redmi Note 7 Pro in China
The images shared on Weibo by Cheng show the upcoming smartphone inside its retail packaging. Sadly, only the lower half of the smartphone’s rear panel is visible in the images. The only major highlight here is the all-new Brown color option that the smartphone will be available in. Its predecessor, the Lenovo Z5 camera in Black, Aurora, and Blue color options. While no details regarding the key features of the Lenovo Z6 have been included in Cheng’s post, we can expect the company to continue teasing the launch of the smartphone in the near future. It is possible that some of the upcoming teasers will shed some light on the hardware upgrades that Lenovo has introduced with the Z6.
The Lenovo Z5, which was launched in June last year, features a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display panel with 1080 x 2246 Full HD+ resolution and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top. It runs on a 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core chipset with an Adreno 509 GPU. On the back of the handset is a dual-camera setup featuring a 16MP primary sensor and an 8MP secondary sensor. For selfies, the Z5 comes with an 8MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone is fueled by a 3300mAh capacity non-removable battery with 15W fast charging support. We can expect the Lenovo Z6 to be powered by a newer Snapdragon 600 or 700-series chipset under the hood, along with a larger display.
