LG G8x ThinQ with Snapdragon 855 SoC and secondary display launched in India for Rs 49,999

LG introduced its latest G series flagship smartphone called the LG G8x ThinQ at its IFA event in September this year. Today, the South Korean tech giant has launched the handset in the Indian market. The latest LG offering is loaded with flagship-grade specifications. The biggest highlight of the LG G8x ThinQ is its secondary detachable display, which also has a 2.1-inch cover screen on the outside. The bigger secondary display can be used to run multiple apps at the same time, while the 2.1-inch Cover Display shows notifications, date, time, battery life and more. You can also game on the secondary screen and use the main display as a game controller.

The LG G8x ThinQ flaunts a 6.4-inch full HD+ OLED FullVision primary display. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor, which is aided by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage up to 2TB via microSD cards. Software-wise, the smartphone boots Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and a customised user interface to let you run multiple apps on the dual-screens of the handset.

For photography, the LG G8x ThinQ has a 12MP f/1.8 primary camera at the rear, which is accompanied by a 13MP Super-Wide-Angle snapper with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies and video calling, there’s a 32MP f/1.9 snapper on the front that’s placed inside the waterdrop notch above the screen. The connectivity features are standard including 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, and A-GPS with GLONASS. A 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support keeps the whole show running. Notably, the device comes with IP68 water and dust resistant design, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

As for the pricing, the LG G8x ThinQ has been priced competitively at Rs 49,999, and will be available across major brick and mortar retail stores across the country starting from tomorrow. Notably, the phone comes bundled with the free LG Dual Screen secondary display.
