LG K40s and K50s announced ahead of IFA launch

LG has confirmed today that it will be showcasing the LG K40s and LG K50s mid-range phones at the IFA 2019 tech exhibition that will be held in the first week of September. The South Korean company has also shared the entire specs and images of the phones ahead of the trade show. It did not confirm the pricing of the K40s and K50s smartphones. However, it has confirmed that Europe, Latin America and Asia will be receiving both smartphones by October.

LG K40s Specifications and Features

The LG K40s features a 6.1-inch FullVision IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch. It offers HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The K40s has an MIL-STD 810 grade chassis that not only safeguards the phone from damage caused due to drops, but also from harsh weather conditions. The handset measures 156.3 x 73.9 x 8.6mm.

An unspecified processor clocked at 2.0GHz powers the LG K40s. It comes in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants. Both models are equipped with an internal storage of 32GB. There is an expandable storage slot on the device.

The LG K40s is equipped with a 3,500mAh battery. The rear side of the K40s features a horizontal dual camera setup that includes a PDAF-assisted 13-megapixel primary lens and a 5-megapixel ultrawide sensor.

LG K50s Specifications and Features

The LG K50s is an advanced sibling of the K40s since it features the same design and comes equipped with a MIL-STD-810G rated chassis. The dimensions of the LG K50s are 165.8 x 77.5 x 8.2mm. The waterdrop notch enabled IPS LCD FullVision display of the LG K50s measures 6.5 inches. It offers HD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The LG K50s is also powered by an octa-core processor that works at 2GHz. There is only variant of the phone that includes 3GB of RAM and an internal storage of 32GB.

The LG K50s has a larger 4,000mAh battery. There is a horizontal triple camera setup on the LG K50s like the ones seen on flagship V-series and G-series phones from LG. It consists of a 13-megapixel lens with PDAF, a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 2-megapixel sensor for depth effects.

The LG K40s and K50s are loaded with Android 9 Pie. Some of the other features of the K-series duo are DTX 3D Surround Sound, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, Google Assistant button and AI Cam. Both smartphones come in two colour options – New Aurora Black and Moroccan Blue.
