LG K62, LG K52 and LG K42 mid-range phones launched: price, specifications

LG has been consistently launching new phones in different markets. In recent months, LG has launched the LG Velvet 5G, LG Stylo 6, LG Q61, LG K31, LG Q92, and LG K71 smartphones. Last week, the brand announced LG Wing dual-screen smartphone with a swivelling display. Now, the South Korean company has announced three new K-series smartphones – the LG K62, LG K52, and LG K42.

The LG K62, K52, and K42 offer punch-hole displays and up to 48-megapixel quad rear cameras. They are backed by big batteries and offer up to 128GB of internal storage. The new K-series smartphones sport MIL-STD-810G certification that can withstand harsh conditions.

The LG K62, LG K52, and LG K42 are fitted with 6.6-inch FullVision IPS LCD panels that offer HD+ resolution and 20:9 aspect ratios. These smartphones boot to Q OS based on Android 10.

The LG K62 and K52 are both equipped with an unspecified 2.3GHz octa-core processor. It is unclear whether both smartphones are driven by the same processor. The LG K62 has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, whereas the K52 features 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The LG K42 is fueled by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor, which is believed to the Helio P22 SoC. The K42 has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage.

The LG K62, K52, and K42 smartphones feature 28-megapixel, 13-megapixel, and 8-megapixel front-facing cameras, respectively. The LG K62’s quad-camera setup has a 48-megapixel main snapper, a 115-degree ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. The LG K52 features the same quad-camera setup. The LG K42’s quad-camera system has a 13-megapixel main camera, while its other lenses are identical to K62 and K52.

The LG K62, K52, and K42 are backed by 4,000mAh batteries. The connectivity features include dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Other common features that are available on the new K-series smartphones include a microSD card slot, LG 3D Sound engine, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and a dedicated hardware key for accessing Google Assistant.

LG is yet to confirm the pricing of the new K-series smartphones. The LG K62 comes in colours like White and Sky Blue, while the K52 will be available in White, Blue and Red shades. These phones will be hitting the European markets in October and they are also expected to arrive in certain markets in Asia, Latin America, and the Middle-East. Apart from these markets, the LG K42 is also heading to Central America. It comes in four colours such as Green, Gray, Red and Sky Blue.
