LG Velvet with Snapdragon 765G and triple rear cameras launched: price, specifications

LG has finally launched its latest smartphone offering called the LG Velvet via an online-only event. The brand has been teasing the smartphone for a while now, and last month even revealed the entire spec sheet of the device ahead of the official launch. Today, the company has announced the pricing and availability of the LG Velvet in its home market of South Korea.

The LG Velvet is a stylish mid-range phone flaunting a “raindrop” triple rear camera array, Snapdragon 765 chipset, and more as its highlights. Here’s what the newest LG Velvet offers in terms of specifications.

The LG Velvet comes with a 6.8-inch full HD+ display with 2,340 x 1,080 pixels screen resolution and a 20.5: 9 aspect ratio. Ticking at the core of the smartphone is a 7nm octa-core  Snapdragon 765G processor accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The smartphone comes with a microSD card slot that allows storage expansion up to 1TB. The phone boots boot Android 10 out of the box and has a 4,300mAh battery with fast charging and 10W wireless charging support.

In the optics department, the Velvet offers a 48MP primary camera accompanied by 8MP ultra-wide lens, 5MP depth sensor and LED flash. The tiny notch on the front is home to a 16MP camera. LG has loaded the camera app with features like Quad binning technology, Voice Out Focus, ASMR recording feature, and more.

For security, the LG Velvet offers an in-display fingerprint scanner. Being an LG device, the handset comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as stereo speakers. There’s an Artificial Intelligence Sound feature that automatically analyzes the content being played and sets the optimal audio quality.

LG is offering the Velvet in Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Aurora Green, and Illusion Sunset colour options. The device will go on sale in South Korea on May 15th and will retail for KRW 8,99,800 (~Rs 55,780).
