Today LG announced its dual-display smartphone with a swivelling design called the LG Wing. Alongside, the South Korean brand also launched LG Velvet smartphone. It had debuted in the home country earlier in May this year.
The LG Velvet is a mid-range offering. It Indian variant comes with different internals compared to its South Korean counterpart. The LG Velvet will compete against the likes of OnePlus 7T, Galaxy Note 10 Lite, Vivo X50, Mi 10T Pro in the country. Let’s take a look at what LG’s latest offering has in store for us.
LG Velvet specifications and features
Beginning with the display, the LG Velvet features a 6.8-inch OLED screen bearing FHD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch. The LG Velvet is an IP68 and MIL-STD 810G certified smartphone. The device comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers.
On the optics front, the LG Velvet features triple rear cameras stacked vertically. The setup consists of a 48MP main sensor, 5MP depth and 8MP ultra-wide lens. The device offers a 16MP front-facing selfie camera. The smartphone is capable of recording 4K videos.
Internally, the LG Velvet houses the two-year old Snapdragon 845 processor. The phone was globally launched in a 5G-capable Snapdragon 765G variant, but this one will not make it to India. The SoC is coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. There is a microSD card slot for additional storage expansion. The smartphone draws its power from a 4,300mAh battery unit with support for fast charging as well as wireless charging.
LG Velvet price in India
The LG Velvet carries a price tag of Rs 36,990. It is offered in Aurora Grey, Aurora Green, Aurora Gray, New Black and Illusion Sunset colours. With LG’s dual-screen accessory, the smartphone will cost Rs 49,990. The LG Velvet will go on sale from October 30th.
