LG launched the LG VELVET phone in May this year, introducing a new naming scheme and different design philosophy. The upper mid-range phone arrived with an aesthetic build and competitive pricing. Recently, the tipster Mukul Sharma had claimed that the smartphone will launch soon in India. The LG VELVET is now reportedly available for pre-booking on an Indian retailer website.
While there is no official confirmation from LG India about the arrival of the LG VELVET, Supreme Mobiles has tweeted the availability of the smartphone. The retailer has also revealed the Indian pricing of the smartphone, with and without the dual-screen accessory. Let’s take a look at the specifications and Indian pricing of the LG VELVET.
LG VELVET specifications and features
The LG VELVET is an IP68-certified and MIL-STD-810G rated smartphone. It is equipped with a 6.8-inch full HD+ display featuring 2,340 x 1,080 pixels resolution and a 20.5: 9 aspect ratio. It’s not known yet which variant of the smartphone will arrive in India. Notably, LG is offering two variants of the LG VELVET. The 5G variant is powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC, whereas the 4G edition features the Snapdragon 845 chipset.
According to the retailer poster, the LG VELVET will arrive in 6GB + 128GB configuration in India. This is different from the LG VELVET launched in South Korea, which features 8GB RAM. The smartphone phone boots Android 10 out of the box and has a 4,300mAh battery. The battery supports fast charging and 10W wireless charging. For security, there’s an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The triple camera system on the rear of the LG VELVET features a 48-megapixel main shooter, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, there’s a single 16-megapixel camera for selfies.
LG VELVET price in India
According to Supreme Mobiles, the LG VELVET is priced at Rs 36,990 for the standard variant. With the dual-screen accessory, the phone will retail at Rs 49,990. The brand is yet to confirm the official pricing and availability of the smartphone.
