LG has introduced the W-series of affordable smartphones in India. Coming in as the first-ever online-exclusive lineup from the South Korean brand, the W-series has been initiated with the launch of the entry-level W10 along, with the budget W30 and W30 Pro. These smartphones offer an impressive screen-to-body ratio, large-sized batteries and good photography capabilities.
LG W10 Specifications and Features
The LG W10 features a durable plastic rear and it is equipped with a 6.18-inch HD+ FullVision screen with a wide notch. It supports HD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Powering the performance of the phone is a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC backed by 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The 8-megapixel front camera of the LG W10 features a dedicated LED flash for capturing better selfies in low-light conditions. Placed on the rear is a dual camera setup that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor with PDAF, 2x zoom support and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The smartphone is packed with a 4,000mAh battery. For security, it features face unlock and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
LG W30 and LG W30 Pro Specifications
The LG W30 that comes with a polycarbonate chassis is fitted with a 6.26-inch FullVision display featuring a waterdrop notch. The display offers HD+ resolution and a tall aspect ratio of 19:9. The W30 offers a screen-to-body ratio of 86 percent, claims the company.
The modest MediaTek Helio P22 that powers other phones like Xiaomi Redmi 6A, Vivo Y12, Vivo Y15, Realme C2, Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Nokia 3.1 Plus is present at the helm of the LG W30 along with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone offers built-in storage of 32GB. For additional storage, there is a dedicated slot for adding a microSD card.
Cameras are one of the major attractions of the LG W30. The selfie notch houses a 16-megapixel camera that is coupled with portrait mode for shooting beautified selfie shots. There is an LED flash assisted triple camera module at the upper-left corner of the back panel. It comprises of a 12-megapixel Sony IMX486 lens as the primary sensor that plays a vital role in shooting images in low-light conditions. The other sensors of W30’s triple camera setup include a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The handset is packed with a 4,000mAh battery. A fingerprint scanner is available on the rear of the smartphone. It also carries support for face unlock.
As the name goes, the LG W30 Pro is an advanced version of the LG W30 phone. It features the same display, front camera and battery as the W30 phone, and it differs in aspects like processor, RAM and rear cameras. The W30 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 632 chipset and 4GB of RAM. It has a native storage of 64GB. The triple camera setup of the LG W30 Pro smartphone features a 13-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. Also, the Pro model is kitted with StereoPulse Sound for immersive audio experience.
The LG W-series of smartphones comes with a stock version of Android 9 Pie along with Google Launcher that includes goodies such as Google Assistant, Google Now and Digital Wellbeing. The new LG W-series phones carry customisations for the display notch. Users can choose from options like straight bezel or a v-shaped notch or a round-shaped notch.
LG W10, W30 and W30 Pro price in India and availability
The LG W10 has arrived in India with a price tag of Rs 8,999. It can be availed in colours like Tulip Purple and Smokey Grey. The LG W30 carries a price tag of Rs 9,999 and its colour variants include Aurora Green, Platinum Grey and Thunder Blue. LG didn’t reveal the pricing of the Pro variant at the event and assured that it will go on sale in India on a later date. These smartphones will be exclusively available for purchase through Amazon India.
The retailer giant will carry out the first flash sale on July 3rd. When it comes to the launch offers, buyers will be able to take advantage of Rs 1,700 cashback offer from Reliance Jio (valid on the Rs 299 plan) and another cashback of Rs 3,250 from ClearTrip.
