Unlike foldable phones, the LG Wing features a swivelling design where one screen rotates horizontally to form a T-shaped form factor. The LG Wing will offer various use cases to the user. Let’s delve into the technical specifications of the smartphone.

LG Wing specifications and features

The LG Wing features dual displays with a swivel hinge

Beginning with the USP, the LG Wing features dual OLED screens. The main display measures 6.8-inches with thin bezels while the secondary screen is 3.9-inches with a 1:1 aspect ratio. The former can rotate at a 90-degree angle and also be used to consume horizontal content. The bottom display has slightly thicker bezels.

Design-wise, the LG Wing has a boxy form factor when not rotated. The back of the phone houses a rectangular camera module. The device is equipped with a pop-up selfie camera and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It is IP54 water and dust-resistant as well as MIL-STD 810G certified. LG says that the hinge mechanism is reliable even after 2,00,000 swivels.

In the photography department, the LG Wing sports a triple camera setup. It consists of a 64MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and another 13MP wide unit. The smartphone features Gimball Motion Camera that offers better stabilisation compared to traditional OIS while shooting videos. The elevating camera houses a 32MP snapper for selfies. The module retracts automatically when the smartphone is in free fall.

The LG Wing offers various use cases. LG says that in Swivel Mode, users can watch videos on the main screen and interact or surf the web on the second screen. While watching videos, the secondary display also acts as a media controller. During video shooting, the second screen also doubles up as gimbal joystick.

The LG Wing is powered by Snapdragon 765G processor with support for 5G connectivity. The smartphone packs 8GB RAM and offers up to 256GB onboard storage. It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery unit and runs Android 10.

LG Wing pricing and availability

LG hasn’t announced the price of LG Wing. It is offered in an Illusion Sky and Aurora Grey colours. The smartphone will go on sale in South Korea next month, followed by key markets in North America and Europe.
