LG launched the X4 budget Android smartphone in South Korea in March last year. The smartphone’s successor, the X4 (2019) has now been added to Google’s Android Enterprise catalog, hinting at an imminent launch. Just like its predecessor, we expect the X4 (2019) to be launched in South Korea without any fanfare.
LG X4 (2019) Specifications
The LG X4 (2019) render in the Google Android Enterprise catalog clearly shows the smartphone will not have a notched display. Instead, it appears to have an 18:9 aspect ratio display. In terms of specs, the LG X4 (2019) listing reveals the smartphone will have a 5.7-inch sized display. While the resolution has not been listed, we can expect it to have an HD+ resolution panel. Its predecessor sports a 5.3-inch display with 720 x 1280 HD resolution.
The smartphone will come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Like other LG smartphones, we can expect to see a microSD card slot as well for further storage expansion. Apart from the memory configuration, the Android Enterprise listing also confirms that the LG X4 (2019) has a fingerprint sensor and comes with NFC support. In terms of software, the smartphone will debut with the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box and not the latest Android 9.0 Pie.
Sadly, there is still no word on the chipset that will power the smartphone. The LG X4 is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset, so we can expect the X4 (2019) to run on a newer and more powerful Snapdragon chipset. In the camera department, the X4 features a single 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. It remains to be seen if the LG X4 (2019) will have a dual-camera setup at the rear.
