LinkedIn rolls out support for Hindi language in India: how to enable it

LinkedIn is now available in Hindi in India. The professional networking and job search platform on Thursday announced the rollout of regional language in the country. With the support for the Hindi language, LinkedIn aims to solve language issues and provide opportunities to a vast majority of Hindi speakers.

LinkedIn now supports 25 languages globally. India is the second-largest market with 82 million LinkedIn users and the Hindi-speaking community is more than 600 million worldwide. Read on to know more about what LinkedIn will offer in Hindi language.

Commenting on the launch, LinkedIn India Country Manager Ashutosh Gupta said, We will continue to evaluate other regional languages as we strive to create equitable economic opportunities for every member of the workforce, and to help diverse professional communities come together on LinkedIn.’

LinkedIn members will be able to view their feed, profile, jobs, messages as well as create content in Hindi. The support for the regional language is already available on desktop as well as Android and iOS app. The networking platform stated that community and conversations are extremely personal and so is language. Hence, it will add Hindi publishers and creators to the platform over the coming months.  

LinkedIn is also working on widening its range of job opportunities for Hindi-speaking professionals across industries including more banking and government jobs. 

How to enable Hindi language on LinkedIn

Users who access LinkedIn on their smartphones will need to select Hindi as their preferred device language in their phone’s settings and the experience will automatically be available in Hindi. 

If you want to switch from English to the Hindi language on LinkedIn, just follow the steps below. 

  • Log in to your LinkedIn account
  • Click the ‘Me’ icon at the top right on the homepage and select ‘Settings and Privacy’
  • Choose ‘Account Preferences’ and under ‘Site Preferences’ select Language and change it to Hindi from the dropdown menu.
