- Mahindra is expected to announce up to five new EV concepts next month
- Previous leaks have talked about the XUV 400 EV
Mahindra has teased the launch of five new EVs ahead of their highly anticipated launch on August 15. While these new vehicles are likely going to be discussed during the Independence Day event next month, a majority of them will only be available in 2023 and beyond. Curiously, one of the EVs teased in the company’s video appears to be a fully-electric version of the Mahindra XUV700.

Mahindra’s designer-in-chief, Pratap Bose will lead the proceedings at next month’s event from the Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) studio in Oxfordshire, UK. As 91Mobiles points out, some of the models teased appear to borrow design principles from a conventional coupe, though not much can be ascertained from the teaser alone.
Despite being among the first to enter the Indian EV scene, Mahindra’s electric car portfolio has been relatively dry for the past couple of years. By outlining a series of new EVs next month, Mahindra hopes to make a big splash in the sector, which now has more names, including Volvo, Kia, MG, and Hyundai, to name a few.
Electric XUV400 Could Be On The Horizon
Previous reporting has suggested the possibility of an electric version of the Mahindra XUV300, rebranded as the XUV400. It’s unclear if this particular EV will be showcased during the August 15 event. Either way, the manufacturer is ready to make a big statement in the Indian EV industry under the ambitious Mahindra Born Electric Vision.
