As seen in the image, the MediaTek MT6883 moniker, which was in the talks for quite a while now, is finally confirmed courtesy of the Wi-Fi certification website. The certification further shows that the test device running on the chipset is utilizing the latest Android 10 (Q) operating system. Furthermore, the chipset will run on 2.4Ghz and 5GHz frequency bands. As of now, little is known about the chipset, but we can expect to hear more about it in the coming days.

As far as the previously unveiled MediaTek MT6889 processor is concerned, the MT6889 is based on a 7nm FinFET process which makes use of the ARM Cortex A77 architecture and Mali-G77 GPU. All this makes the chipset the world’s first A77 + G77 architecture. Adding to it, the MT6889 integrates the 5G modem Helio M70 which has up to 4.7Gbps of downlink speed and up to 2.5Gbps of uplink speed.
