Meizu is holding an event in Zhuhai, China tomorrow to take the wraps off its flagship Meizu 16s smartphone. A day before the launch event in the manufacturer’s home country, live images showing the Meizu 16s have been leaked on Weibo. The images confirm the Meizu 16s will not have a vastly different design compared to its predecessor.
Meizu 16s Live Images Confirm Notch-Less Display, Dual Rear Cameras
Unlike most other flagship smartphones that have been launched recently, the Meizu 16s will not have a notch or even a punch-hole in the display. Similar to the Meizu 16 from last year, the Meizu 16s will have a notch-less display with thin bezels on all sides. The top bezel will house the selfie camera as well as the earpiece. On the back of the phone, we see a vertically-stacked dual-camera setup with a ring LED flash below the two sensors.
Meizu 16s will be the smartphone maker’s first flagship smartphone to feature a 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor. According to rumors, the base variant of the phone will have 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. A more expensive variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage will be available as well. Previous leaks have revealed that the Meizu 16s will arrive with a 6.2-inch Full HD+ resolution display featuring an In-display fingerprint sensor. For optics, the Meizu flagship will have a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor at the rear. It will be clubbed with a 20-megapixel secondary snapper. On the front, it will come equipped with a 20-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.
Fueling the internals of the Meizu 16s will be a 3540mAh capacity battery with 24W fast charging. Unsurprisingly, the phone will run on Android Pie-based FlymeOS 7.3 out of the box. It is expected to be available in three color options – Black, White, and Blue.
