Meizu is one such Chinese cell phone brand that hasn’t been much active in the Indian smartphone space. The company has come a long way since it previously announced the Meizu M3s in India back in October last year starting at Rs 7,999. Going ahead, Meizu today announced a new phone dubbed the M5 in India. The phone is priced at Rs. 10,499 and up for grabs exclusively on Tata Cliq. It comes in two colours: Blue and Champagne Gold. The biggest highlight of the Meizu M5, it supports 4G VoLTE so that users can operate it on Reliance Jio network.
Furthermore, it comes with a hybrid dual-SIM slot, allowing users access either two SIM cards or one microSD card simultaneously. What’s more, it offers a fingerprint scanner and an octa-core processor, which is common in this price range. To recall, the Meizu M5 was first introduced in China in two variants: 2GB of RAM with 16GB of storage and 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage. The only 3GB RAM variant will be sold in India, though.
Specs-wise, the Meizu M5 has a 5.2-inch 720p display with 2.5D curved glass on top of it. Inside is an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 SoC ticking at 1.5GHz in addition to Mali-T860 for graphics. It houses a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, and 5P Lens. Up front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, 4P Lens for selfies. It packs a 3070mAh battery, which is claimed to offer up to 66 hours of music playback, 37 hours of talk time, 9 hours of gaming, and 5 hours of photography.
The Meizu M5 measures 8mm in thickness and weighs 138 grams.
