Meizu is now sending out invites to a press conference scheduled at MWC for February 28. The invite reads “Faster Than Ever” followed by “Meizu MWC 2017.” That aside, the company did not reveal what the event is all about. Meizu, however, confirmed later that the range of accessories in addition to a complete line of products is to be showcased at the event.
“We believe international platforms like Mobile World Congress would add huge value to brand Meizu and it would also enhance our potential to better understand the global tech ecosystem through getting into the fabrics of global tech alliances,” Meizu’s Leon Zhang said in a statement.
Meizu released the Meizu M5s, the successor to its earlier Meizu M5, last week. The Meizu M5s comes with an all-metal unibody design and different colour options. It features a 5.2-inch HD screen with a 2.5D curved panel. Inside are an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 chip and 3GB RAM. It runs Flyme OS 6.0 software on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Furthermore, it packs in a 3000mAh battery with support for fast charging.
We reported recently that Meizu is planning to launch the Meizu M5 in India soon. In term of design, the Meizu M5 flaunts a polycarbonate body. It sports a 5.2-inch display with 2.5D contoured glass layered on top. The Dual-SIM phone comes in two variants — 2GB RAM with 16GB internal memory as well as 3GB RAM with 32GB internal memory. Meizu M5 also houses a 13MP camera with phase detection autofocus in addition to a front-mounted fingerprint scanner.
