The release of official images of the Meizu Pro 7 has finally put rumours that were doing the rounds over the last month and a half to rest. The Meizu Pro 7 will sport two displays, one at the front and one at the back. Although, it is yet unknown which display technology will be deployed in the rear screen.
After the wave of dual cameras being featured on every flagship phone, this could be a new trend setter with two display units on a single device. The Meizu Pro follows a similar design language that was first seen on the Yotaphone. The Yotaphone featured an e-ink display on the back which is a very low power consuming panel.
According to earlier leaks, it was reported that the device would sport a display that could reproduce colours. However, if the images are to be analysed, it does seem like it might sport an e-ink display after all. This would be in-line with power conservation motives and improving functionality at the same time.
The secondary device could add quite some functionality to the device such as an always-on display. This could be used to display time and notifications. Along with this, the secondary display could also be used as a camera preview display to help capture images with the rear camera.
Meizu has set the launch date on 26th July when we’d be able to see the device in the flesh. Till then we’d have to wait in anticipation on what Meizu has up its sleeves. Till then, you could also have a tentative look at what the device may look like as leaked by OnLeaks and Compareraja.
