MG Motors has announced that the highly anticipated MG Comet electric city car will be launched in India this coming April. The announcement comes just one week after the EV was unveiled for the Indian market, with the company confirming that the vehicle will come in five distinct colour options.

The MG Comet EV is specifically designed with urban users in mind and promises to offer an adequate range for travelling within and around the city. Additionally, the car will be equipped with advanced features such as a touchscreen-based infotainment system, LED lighting, and a digital instrument cluster to enhance the overall driving experience.

Next month, MG Motors will launch the MG Comet EV in India. Based on the Wuling Air EV, the electric car will come in five colours – Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue, and White. An official statement from MG Motors confirmed that the pricing for the Comet EV would be revealed next month.

What To Expect?

The upcoming MG Comet EV is expected to have similar specifications. It is projected that the Comet EV will be equipped with a 17.3kWh or 26.7kWh battery unit and have a claimed range of up to 200km or 300km respectively.

The electric motor of the vehicle is capable of producing 40bhp of peak power and 110Nm of peak torque. It takes approximately 8.5 to 10 hours to fully charge the EV using a home socket. The Comet EV will also feature MacPherson Struts suspension at the front, Multi-Link suspension at the rear, and 12-inch wheels with 145 cross-sections.

As the Indian government is pushing for the widespread adoption of electric vehicles, MG Motors has taken a significant step towards establishing a strong presence in the electric car market with the launch of the MG Comet EV. The vehicle is expected to be competitively priced, making it accessible to a broader range of customers nationwide.
