Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has launched in India today. It is the brand’s top-end flagship that had debuted globally last month. The Indian variant comes with the same specifications as the global version, and has been launched alongside the Mi 11X series flagships.

The Mi 11 Ultra is being touted as ‘The SuperPhone’. The device comes with top-of-the-line specifications and also features a small secondary display on the back panel. The smartphone will compete against the likes of the OnePlus 9 Pro, Samsung Galaxy Note 20, iPhone 12 and others.

The Mi11 Ultra features a small secondary screen on the rear camera module

Beginning with the display, the Mi 11 Ultra boasts of a 6.81-inch sAMOLED curved punch-hole screen bearing WQHD+ resolution. It offers 1,700 nits peak brightness, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, MEMC, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. The smartphone features a 120Hz Intelligent AdaptiveSync refresh rate panel as well as a 10-bit panel (also found on the OPPO Find X3) that is capable of 1 billion+ colour reproduction. There is a 360-degree ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness. 

Design-wise, the Mi 11 Ultra flaunts a ceramic back panel. It houses an elongated rectangular camera bump on the rear. There are three camera sensors along with an LED flash on the left and a secondary 1.1-inch display on the right. It can be utilised for displaying information, notifications, music control etc. The smartphone is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and is also IP68-rated dust and water-resistant. The Mi 11 Ultra features an in-screen fingerprint scanner. 

In the photography department, the Mi 11 Ultra comes with a 50MP Truepixel Custom GN2 sensor paired with a 48MP ultra-wide snapper and a 48MP telephoto lens. The smartphone is capable of shooting pictures across 12mm to 120mm focal lengths. The telephoto periscope sensor also supports 120x AI super zoom and 5x optical zoom. The Mi 11 Ultra offers up to 8K video recording at 24 fps. On the front, it features a 20MP selfie camera. 

Under the hood, the Mi 11 Ultra houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with an integrated X60 modem. It is paired with Adreno 660 GPU and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. The smartphone packs 256GB UFS 3.1 native storage. It draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 67W wired and wireless charging. On the software front, the smartphone runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11 out of the box. 

The Mi 11 Ultra is equipped with stereo speakers powered by Harman Kardon. Connectivity options on the device include a 5G, 4G LTE, USB-C port, dual-band WiFi and GPS, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and NavIC support.
