Xiaomi had released its second generation Mi Power Bank 2 with 20000mAh capacity back in December 2016. The company is now gearing up to launch the third generation Mi Power Bank 3 with the same 20000mAh capacity.
Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 3 Set to Launch in China Next Week
Xiaomi today announced that the Mi Power Bank 3 with 20000mAh capacity will be going on sale in China on January 11. The power bank will be available for CNY 199, which translates to USD 28.99 based on the current exchange rate. Its predecessor, Mi Power Bank 2 20000mAh was launched at CNY 149 in 2016. While the current Mi Power Bank 2 supports up to 18W power output for faster charging times, the Mi Power Bank 3 will be capable of delivering up to 45W power output.
The power bank will include a USB Type-C port in addition to dual USB Type-A ports. Only the USB Type-C port will support 45W two-way 45W fast charging feature. The USB Type-A ports will support 5V/2.4A, 9V/2A, and 12V/1.5A power output. Apart from fast charging, the power bank will also offer a low-current mode for charging low power devices such as Bluetooth headsets. The power bank itself can be fully charged in just 4.5 hours using the 45W charger. With a regular 10W charger, it will take 11 hours for the Mi Power Bank 3 20000mAh to be fully charged. For more details, we will need to wait until the device goes official on January 11. While the Mi Power Bank 3 20000mAh will be available only in China initially, we expect Xiaomi to launch it in at least a few other markets in the near future. We can expect a 10000mAh variant of the Mi Power Bank 3 as well, although Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the same just yet.
