Micromax has finally put all rumours to rest by announcing and releasing press invites to their new smartphones’ launch on August 22. These smartphones are expected to be a series of three devices and will go by the name, ‘Canvas Infinity Series.’ The unique selling point of these devices will be their displays.
The Canvas Infinity series has been gathering attention for its display dimensions since it was first leaked. The devices are expected to feature an 18:9 aspect ratio display panel similar to what the Samsung Galaxy S8 sports. Micromax has been known to price their products aggressively and we should expect a similar strategy with the Infinity smartphones as well. This would also be in-line with other competitors such as LG that launched the Q6 sporting a Full Vision Display rocking a price tag of Rs. 14,990.
It is yet unknown on the price Micromax will be asking for these devices. However, since the line-up is expected to go head-on against the top-tier devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG G6 it is expected to feature top of the line Snapdragon processors. This may cause the device to surpass the Q6 in terms of price and still be cheaper than its LG and Samsung counterparts. With such configuration and a small asking price, Micromax might just be successful at claiming its lost glory.
As per other design related leaks that have been doing the rounds include the inclusion of a high-end camera module. Other than that, the devices are also touted to feature a premium build. More information regarding this lineup is expected to appear as we get closer to the launch date, so watch this space for updates.
