Indian smartphone brand Micromax appears to be optimistic with the roadmap it has for the year 2017, which looks promising so far. Recently, the company unveiled its flagship Dual 5 followed by a whole new Evok series in association with Flipkart. Continuing with it, Micromax today expanded its Canvas series and introduced a new affordable smartphone: the Canvas 2 (2017). The highlight, it is Micromax’s first Android Nougat phone boasting of 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. What’s more, it also holds a one-year one-screen guarantee.
Specs-wise, the Micromax Canvas 2 (2017) has a 5-inch 720p display featuring the pixel density of 294 pixels per inch. Inside is a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of expandable storage. Design-wise, it measures 8.5mm in thickness and weighs 160 grammes. For photography, it houses a 13-megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera. The phone embraces a fingerprint scanner, a 3,050 mAh battery, and support for VoLTE.
The Micromax Canvas 2 (2017) comes bundled with unlimited data and talk time for Airtel prepaid users, offering 600 minutes of monthly talk time and 1GB of daily data. The device costs Rs 11,999 and will be available for grabs across offline channels.
