Micromax has launched its new Evok series smartphones in a joint venture with e-commerce platform Flipkart. The Micromax Evok Note and Evok Power are the first phones to be launched with this partnership. The Evok Note comes at Rs 9,499 whereas the Evok Power gets a price tag of Rs 6,999. The phones are available on sale exclusively on Flipkart.
The Micromax Evok Note sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a pixel density of 441PPI and 2.5D glass on top. Under the hood, it equips an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 chipset with 3GB of RAM. It gets 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded via MicroSD card.
Furthermore, the Evok Note gets a front-mounted fingerprint scanner with Secure Space feature for dual profiles. Secure Space is a private security app that allows users to create encrypted notes and shortcuts on the phones. It can be accessed only through fingerprint scanner. For photography, the phone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with 5P Largen lens. On the front, it houses a 5-megapixel snapper.
The Micromax Evok Power, on the other hand, puts on a 5-inch HD display and draws its power from a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. The device gets 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is further expandable via MicroSD card. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. It also houses a fingerprint scanner located on the back panel.
Both the devices support 4G VoLTE and packs in a massive 4000mAh battery. They run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and come in only one colour option – Champagne. With this move, it seems like Micromax is all set to come back strongly. With Evok branded smartphones, the company is targeting a price segment that accounts for about 50% of smartphone market by volume and 40% by value.
