Micromax In 1 and In Note 1 users are facing severe battery drain and swelling issues. This is after the homegrown brand rolled out its first-ever over-the-air firmware update along with the August security patch for both devices. The In 1 debuted in March last year while In Note 1 was launched way back in November 2020.
The issue was first raised by Micromax In 1 user Shubham Dutt on his Twitter handle. He also shared an image of the device where the battery is seen swelling.
Micromax In 1, Note 1 facing issues after August update
Micromax almost after a year rolled out an August patch update for IN 1. After updating, battery started draining rapidly. After a few days, I can notice that the battery has started swelling.
This is my mom’s phone, so we have stopped using it. (1/2) pic.twitter.com/Bb1zKdl3ga

The August update resulted in a rapid battery drain and after a couple of days, the battery unit also started to swell. The latter became pretty noticeable as the rear panel was bent outward from the middle in an image shared by Shubham Dutt. Several other users also shared their experiences with the same issue. The swelling battery has caused concern among users about whether they should use the phone or not.
Micromax is yet to acknowledge the issues reported by users. We expect the brand to issue a statement and a possible fix for In 1 and In Note 1 users.
The Micromax In 1 and In Note 1 come with 6.67-inch FHD+ displays. The former is powered by an Helio G80 whereas the latter is equipped with Helio G85 SoC. Both devices are backed by a 5,000mAh battery life with support for 18W fast charging.
