Micromax IN 1 is the next smartphone from the Indian brand. The company will be launching the device at 12 PM on March 19th. Not many details about the upcoming phone are available at the moment.
After taking a sabbatical for a couple of years, Micromax made a comeback in India by announcing the Micromax IN Note 1 and Micromax IN 1b. Both smartphones arrived with aggressive pricing to rival the likes of Xiaomi, Realme, and Samsung. The company could be aiming to increase its market share in India as it has reportedly planned to launch multiple phones this year.
Micromax IN 1 launching in India on March 19th
Micromax is adverting the upcoming Micromax IN 1 smartphone with “India ka Naya Blockbuster” tagline. The company is yet to reveal the key features of the smartphone. The launch will be livestreamed on Micromaxinfo.com.
The moniker of the smartphone suggests that it will be slotted between IN 1b and IN Note 1. The top-end variants of the IN 1b and IN Note 1 are priced at Rs 7,999 and Rs 10,999, respectively, so we can expect it to be priced below Rs 10,000.
Micromax 2021 launch timeline
In a recent interview with Technical Guruji, Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma claimed that the company will be expanding its product lineup in Q2. He also revealed that the company is working on a gaming-focus handset and a 5G-ready smartphone, which is likely to launch by the end of the year.
Sharma also said, “We only have two products right now but I must say its been a ‘dreamy comeback’. By March-end, we should have one more product in the market and from April onwards, the plan is to bring in 4-5 products every quarter and refresh the portfolio every 6-8 months,”. Earlier, he also claimed that the forthcoming smartphones will offer higher refresh rates, Widevine L1, and gaming capabilities.
New Micromax phones spotted on certification sites
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) recently approved new Micromax devices with model numbers such as E7748, X757, X743, X739, X418, and X389. Another smartphone with model number E7544 was spotted on Geekbench with an unknown 1.82GHz chipset, 4GB of RAM, and Android 11 OS.
