Micromax schedules launch event for July 30th, In 2B expected


  • Micromax is launching a new device at the end of this month
  • Going by the brand’s Twitter teaser, it is expected to be a smartphone aimed at gig workers

Micromax has scheduled a product launch event on July 30th at 12 noon. However, the homegrown brand hasn’t revealed any details of its upcoming device. Micromax is teasing the upcoming offering with hashtag #AbIndiaChaleNonStop hinting at the arrival of a smartphone with a bigger battery and more RAM capacity.

Micromax made a re-entry into the smartphone market with the In Note 1 and In 1B in November last year. It launched a third device, In 1 in March this year that is positioned between the other two devices.

Micromax In 2B specifications and features (expected)

As per a report by The Mobile Indian, Micromax was said to be working on In 2B with an imminent launch later this month. The brand is also reportedly working on In 2C smartphone with the launch scheduled for next month. If Micromax indeed launches the In 2B on July 30th, it will debut as the successor to last year’s In 1B. 

The Micromax In 2B was spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform. The listing revealed an octa-core Unisoc T610 chipset paired with 4GB RAM. The device may ship with Android 11. The Micromax In 2B scored 350 points in single-core tests and 1204 points in multi-core tests. 

Additionally, the Micromax In 2C has also been listed on Geekbench with a Unisoc T610 SoC coupled with Mali-G52 GPU and 4GB RAM.

We will know more details about what Micromax is planning to announce next week leading up to the launch event.
