Domestic smartphone manufacturer Micromax’s sub-brand Yu has launched a new device dubbed as Yu Ace at an affordable price. The device is targeted towards budget buyers. Let’s take a look at the technical specifications of this device:
Beginning with the display, the Yu Ace features a 5.45-inch HD+ screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio and FullVision display. There are narrow bezels surrounding the display. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the rear side for securely unlocking the device. The phone ships in three color variants Charcoal Grey, Electric Blue & Rose Gold.
In the optics department, the Yu Ace features a 13MP rear camera accompanied by LED flash. On the front, there is a 5MP shooter for selfies and video calling purposes. For additional security purpose, the front camera also doubles up as a face unlock feature.
On the hardware front, the Yu Ace is equipped with a quad-core MediaTek MT6738 processor. The processor is paired with 2GB RAM. The handset will be launched later in 3GB RAM variant as well. As for the storage, the base variant comes with 16GB internal memory whereas the later 3GB RAM variant offers 32GB memory. The device runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo OS out of the box. It offers stock UI experience. Yu has also promised to roll out Android 9.0 Pie on the device by November this year.
Powering this device is a huge 4000 mAh battery unit. It is capable of lasting for one day on a full charge. Connectivity-wise, the Yu Ace comes with dual VoLTE setting for making VoLTE calls on both the SIM cards. Other basic options like 4G, 3G, 2G, WiFi, & Bluetooth are supported.
Pricing & Availability:
The Yu Ace is a Flipkart exclusive phone and will be available for purchase from September 6. It bears a price tag of Rs 5,999 for the base variant. The 3GB/32GB variant will likely go on sale later. The Micromax sub-brand will compete against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 5A aka ‘desh ka smartphone’, Infinix Smart 2 and Tenor D.
