Microsoft Surface Go 2

Microsoft Surface Go 2 has a larger display and updated processor

The Surface Go was launched in 2018 as the smallest Surface in the expansive product lineup. However, the smaller size came with its own inherent problems. Microsoft is addressing those complaints with the Surface Go 2. The biggest change comes in the form of a new 10.5-inch display. The display is an improvement over the 10-inch display seen on the original model.

Despite the slightly larger display, the overall size remains the same. Microsoft has shrunk the bezels but it is not as small as the ones seen on the Surface Pro X. The display also gets a bump in resolution to 1,920 x 1,280 pixels. Like all Surface devices, the Surface Go 2 maintains the 3:2 aspect ratio.

The base model still uses an Intel Pentium Gold processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage. However, there is a new 8th generation Intel Core m3 model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. There is also a model with Intel Pentium Gold processor coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage. Lastly, you get an Intel Core m3 variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage.

In terms of ports, there is a single USB Type-C port, the microSDXC card reader and the Surface Connect port for charging and docking. The overall dimensions remain the same as it’s predecessor. This means your existing Surface Go Type covers and accessories will work with this new model.

Microsoft is also addressing the battery issues by packing a larger battery and improving power consumption. The company is claiming up to 10 hours of typical Wi-Fi use on a single charge. There is an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera for Skype HD video calls. Microsoft has also updated the mics with dual studio microphones.

Microsoft Surface Go starts at 544g and is compatible with Surface Dial. It has magnesium casing and comes in platinum colour. There is a physical volume and power button and Windows Hello facial authentication system. It supports Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 802.11ax. It runs Windows 10 Home in S mode and includes a one month Microsoft 365 Family trial.

With the Surface Book 3, Microsoft brings faster SSD and updated NVIDIA graphics

Microsoft Surface Book 3 is the third iteration of the Surface Book series and comes more than two years after the launch of its predecessor. It has the same design as it’s predecessor with dynamic fulcrum hinge that looks weird like it first did in 2015. There are two different screen options: a 13.5-inch model and a 15-inch model.

The screen is detachable from the base which houses one of the best laptop keyboards. While the design remains the same, Microsoft has made significant improvements under the hood. The 13.5-inch model is available in four different configurations in India.

The base model comes with a quad-core Core i5 chipset with 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD storage and integrated Iris Plus graphics. There is also a Core i7 model with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Core i7 model can also be equipped with 32GB of RAM and 512GB or 1TB of storage. The Core i7 model offers NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 with Max-Q design and 4GB of GDDR5 graphics memory.
