Last October, Microsoft announced three computing devices namely the Surface Pro 7, Surface Laptop 3 and Surface Pro X. At that time, there was no information on India availability and pricing. Three months since the Surface event, the Redmond-based company brought the Surface Pro 7 to India. The convertible offering is available for purchase on Amazon and Flipkart starting at Rs 70,999. Notably, Microsoft India’s official website has also listed the other devices i.e. Surface Pro X and Surface Laptop 3. Their pricing and availability is not known at the moment, but the devices feature a ‘coming soon’ tag, so we can expect a launch in the near future.
Surface Laptop 3 specifications and features

The Surface Laptop 3 is available in two sizes and choices of Intel or AMD processors
The Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 is offered in 13.3 and 15-inch screen sizes. Both the variants come with support for the Surface Pen. The 13.3-inch and 15-inch models are available with Intel and AMD processor options respectively. The former can be availed with 10th gen Intel Core i5 or i7 chipsets with Intel Iris Plus graphics. On the other hand, the latter is offered with AMD Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7 processors paired with Radeon Vega 9 and Vega 11 GPUs onboard, respectively. The Surface Laptop 3 packs up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and is offered in four SSD storage options up to 1TB.
Both the variants of the Surface Laptop 3 offer up to 11.5 hours of battery life. The laptops feature a Windows Hello face authentication through a 720p front-facing camera. Connectivity options on the Surface Laptop 3 include a USB-C port, USB-A, 3.5mm headphone jack and a Surface Connect port.
The Surface Laptop 3 starts at $999 (~Rs 71,000) and is up for purchase in the US.
Surface Pro X specifications and features

The Surface Pro is a 2-in-1 convertible device offering up to 512GB of storage
Microsoft Surface Pro X is a 2-in-1 convertible device that can be used in various form factors. The device features a QHD 13-inch edge-to-edge touchscreen display. Microsoft claims that the Surface Pro X is its thinnest 2-in-1 laptop measuring 7.3mm. The Surface Pro X is powered by Microsoft SQ1 chipset which the company has developed in partnership with Qualcomm. The processor is paired with an Adreno 685 GPU onboard. The Surface Pro X packs up to 16GB RAM and offers up to 512GB storage in form of an SSD.
The convertible laptop features a 5MP front-facing camera and a 10MP rear shooter. Both the cameras are capable of recording 1080p FHD video. The Surface Pro X is also equipped with 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Audio and dual far-field studio mics. The laptop is claimed to last up to 13 hours on a single charge. It offers LTE connectivity with a nano-SIM slot but we are unsure if this feature will be available in India. Other connectivity options include two USB-C ports, a Surface Connect port, Surface Keyboard Connector port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and GLONASS.
