Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 has launched today. It arrives as the successor to the original Surface Laptop Go that was announced way back in 2020. Apart from a few upgrades, the Surface Laptop Go 2 is also quite similar to its predecessor.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 retains the same 12.4-inch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio screen and 1,536 x 1,024 pixels resolution from the original model. It has a compact form factor and features a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button as well as an improved 720p webcam.
Under the hood, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 is powered by an 11th generation Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor. It packs up to 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. The machine is also said to be equipped with quieter and improved thermals. Microsoft says that the latest laptop comes with more replaceable components including the keyboard and trackpad, display and battery. It’s worth noting that they’re designed to be replaced by Microsoft’s authorised repair providers.
The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 ships with the latest Windows 11 OS. It is claimed to deliver 13.5 hours of battery life on a single charge. Connectivity options on the device include WiFi-6, USB-A, USB-C, a headphone jack, and a proprietary Surface port for charging.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 comes in Ice Blue, Sandstone, Platinum and Sage colours. The base 4GB + 128GB variant starts at $599.99 (~Rs 46,564). The 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB options are priced at $699.99 (~Rs 54,325) and $799.99 (~Rs 62,086) respectively. The higher 16GB + 256GB carries a price tag of $1,099.99 (~Rs 85,368). The pre-orders for Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 start today with shipments commencing from June 7th.
