Misfit Vapor X smartwatch with Snapdragon 3100 and Wear OS announced

Misfit, the Fossil sub-brand has launched a new smartwatch called the Vapor X. It is a sequel to the Vapor 2 that was launched last year. Misfit claims that the Vapor X is the company’s lightest and the most efficient smartwatch powered by Wear OS. Let’s take a look at the device below:

Specifications and Features:

The Vapor X offers a circular AMOLED display with 328ppi pixel density measuring 1.19-inches. Design-wise, the wearable sports a 42mm case made up of lightweight aluminum alloy weighing just 43g. There are hardware buttons on the right side for navigation and customising functions. Like Vapor 2, the latest smartwatch is also water-resistant up to 30 meters. For better comfort, the Vapor X comes with Sports Starp+ silicone straps. The Misfit Vapor X can be availed in five colour options – Black, Rose Tone (Rose Beige strap), Gunmetal (Green strap), Stainless (Navy sport strap) and Champagne (Lavender strap). 

In terms of hardware, the Misfit Vapor X is powered by the latest Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset. It is paired with 512MB RAM and offers 4GB onboard storage. The smartwatch runs Google’s Wear OS and packs various features like standalone GPS, heart rate sensor, text and call notifications, music playback control and Google Pay support. It also comes with third-party apps like Spotify, Strava, Cardiogram, Noonlight and more. The smartwatch is compatible with Android and iOS devices running Android 4.4+ and iOS 10+ respectively. 

The Vapor X is equipped with sensors like an accelerometer, altimeter, gyroscope, and microphone. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC for contactless payments. The Vapor X is backed by a 330mAh battery unit and comes with multiple battery modes to make it last longer. Misfit claims that the smartwatch can deliver up to 80 percent charge in less than an hour.

Pricing & Availability:

The Misfit Vapor X has been launched at an original price tag of $279 (~Rs 19,923 ). For a limited time, it is available at an introductory price of $199 (~Rs 14,210). International availability is not known yet.
