Features of MIUI 9 Global Version for India
MIUI 9 was initially unveiled with a lot of new features but they vary depending upon the region. For India, Xiaomi has made some additional customizations. The major focus of MIUI 9 is to be lightning fast and the brand claims that it is almost as fast as stock Android.
Xiaomi announced that it has optimised touch feedback for a better experience, improved CPU acceleration and also added automatic background activity management. All of these new features will combine together to provide a faster and better user experience.
Four new features were highlighted in the event – notifications, split screen, app icons and photo editing. The new notification shade brings some minor improvements which shows multiple styles, allows users to open bundled notifications with a single swipe, reply directly through notifications and other similar features. Split screen works similar to what is offered in stock Android Nougat. But it has been further optimized to make user’s experience even better. Xiaomi has also introduced 21 animated app icons that promise to enhance the UI. The MIUI 9 also comes with smart photo editing tools which lets users erase unwanted objects from pictures. This is an advanced feature which might prove useful in many situations.
The new OS also comes with an app vault which can be accessed by swiping right from the home screen. This vault includes a search bar, shortcuts to your most used features, notes, cricket scores, etc. Ola has also introduced a customized card for the app vault which lets you book a ride with just a single click. Along with it, new themes have been introduced which make the UI look much cleaner than the existing pre-installed themes. MIUI 9‘s native calendar now also shows Hindu Calendar along with details about prominent Indian festivals.
Xiaomi has included a bunch of stickers to make your pictures look more fun. The brand has also added a set of extra stickers specially for Indian users. Furthermore, MIUI 9 has finally introduced the smart IRCTC message feature. This feature automatically detects messages from IRCTC which show details about your journey and transforms it into an actual ticket-like UI providing you a better glance at your journey details.
