The Moto Edge X30 and Edge S30 have launched in China today. The latter is a rebranded version of the Moto G200, which debuted in Europe in November. It comes with Snapdragon 888+ chipset, a 144Hz display, and 108-megapixel cameras.
The Edge X30 is the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset powered smartphone. Apart from featuring the most advanced mobile chipset built for Android phones, the Edge X30 packs in several exciting features like a 144Hz OLED display, 50-megapixel triple cameras, and a 60-megapixel front-facing. The company also unveiled a special edition Edge X30 featuring an under-display camera.
Moto Edge X30 specifications and features
The Moto Edge X30 features a 6.6-inch OLED display that offers a Full HD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, a 576Hz touch sampling rate, 10-bit colours, DCI-P3 colour gamut, HDR10+, DC dimming, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. Under the hood of the device is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which is accompanied enhanced version of LPPDR5 and UFS 3.1 storage. The device comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
The Edge X30 is the first-ever smartphone to feature a 60-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera unit of the Edge X30 has a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth camera.
The Edge X30 has a 5,000mAh battery to keep the lights on. The bundled 68W charger allows the smartphone to gain 50 percent battery juice by charging it only for 13 minutes. The device comes preinstalled with Android 12, which is customized with My UI 3.0. It comes with support for Ready For 3.0, which allows users to connect the device to an external display for a full-blown desktop PC experience. The X30 also features stereo speakers.
Moto Edge S30 specifications and features
The Moto Edge S30 has a behemoth 6.8-inch IPS LCD screen that delivers an FHD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a 5,76Hz touch sampling rate. A 16-megapixel selfie camera is available inside the display punch-hole, while its back panel features a 108-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (depth) triple camera unit.
The Edge S30 is driven by the Snapdragon 888+ mobile platform. It ships with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It boots to Android 12 OS, which is overlaid with the latest My UI 3.0. The 5,000mAh battery of the Edge S30 carries support for 33W fast charging. For security, it features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and it carries support Ready For PC feature.
Moto Edge X30, Edge S30 pricing and availability
The Moto Edge X30 has arrived in three options such as 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. They are priced at RMB 3,199 (~Rs 37,950), RMB 3,399 (~Rs 40,300), and RMB 3,599 (~Rs 42,700), respectively. The X30 special edition with an under-display camera comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It is priced at RMB 3,999 (~Rs 47,400). The pre-orders of the phone have started from today in China and its first sale will be carried out on December 15th, 2021. The Edge X30 variants are also available with RMB 200 (~Rs 2,400) discount on the first sale.
The Moto Edge S30 has come in variants such as 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. They are priced at RMB 1,999 (~Rs 23,700), RMB 2,199 (~Rs 26,100), RMB, 2,399 (~Rs 28,500), and RMB 2,399 (~Rs 28,500), respectively. Early buyers in China will be able to all the four variants with RMB 200 (~Rs 2,400) discount. The pre-orders of the S30 begins on December 12th, 2021 and its first sale will be carried out on December 21st, 2021.
Motorola rumoured to launch a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in India in Q1 2022. Probably, the Edge X30 may arrive with the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra moniker in India and other markets.
