Motorola is known for offering impressive value for money smartphones under its G- and E- series phones. For a while now, there have been rumours and speculations regarding an upcoming G-series as well as E-series handset. The Moto G Fast was spotted in an accidental YouTube promo video on the official Motorola channel recently, while the Moto E LE was spotted on Verizon’s website.
The Lenovo-owned brand has now gone ahead and announced the Moto G Fast and Moto E in its home market of the US. While Moto G Fast features a triple camera module and Snapdragon 665 SoC as its highlights, Moto E offers dual cameras and a waterdrop notch.
Moto G Fast specifications and features
The Moto G Fast comes with a 6.4-inch LCD display with HD+ screen resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. The display sports a punch-hole design with the cutout placed in the top-left corner. Ticking at the core of the smartphone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset accompanied by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The phone is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with 10W charging and boots near stock Android 10 out of the box.
Coming to cameras, the Moto G Fast offers a 16-megapixel primary wide-angle f/1.7 lens backed by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle f/2.2 sensor and 2-megapixel f/2.2 macro lens with 2cm distance. The punch-hole cutout on the front houses an 8-megapixel f/2.0 camera.
For security, there is a fingerprint scanner on the back embedded in the Motorola logo. Other features include a splash-resistant design, 3.5mm audio jack, micro-USB port, and more.
Moto E specifications and features
The Moto E comes with a waterdrop notch display that measures 6.2-inches. The LCD display panel offers HD+ screen resolution and taller 19:9 aspect ratio. Handling the performance of the smartphone is a slightly less powerful Snapdragon 632 SoC backed by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The phone boots stock Android 10.
In the optics department, the Moto E is equipped with a dual camera setup comprising a 13-megapixel f/2.0 primary lens, which is backed by 2-megapixel f/2.2 depth sensor. The waterdrop notch on the front houses a 5-megapixel f/2.0 selfie camera.
Powering the phone is a smaller 3,550mAh battery with 5W charging. All other features of the handset are similar to the Moto G Fast.
Moto G Fast and Moto E price and availability
Both Moto G Fast and Moto E will be up for pre-orders starting June 5th in the US and will go on sale from June 12th. The former has been priced at $199.99 (~Rs 15,100), while the latter will retail at $149.99 (~Rs 11,300).
