The Moto G Play has always been Motorola‘s budget king. The last version of the budget smartphone was launched back in January 2021. And now it seems that the company is planning to launch its latest edition before the end of the year.

In collaboration with 91mobiles, Tipster Evan Blass has shared renders and specifications of the upcoming Moto G Play (2022). So let’s take a closer look at the latest edition of the forthcoming Moto G Play.

In terms of design, the 2022 model features a redesigned camera island. The camera island will be located in the top left corner of the device rather than the middle, which was the case with the previous generation. Besides, the camera island has three vertically aligned cutouts.

The most noticeable change is the transition from a water-drop notch to a centred punch-hole, which improves the display’s appearance significantly. The display retains a prominent forehead and a massive chin bezel.

Moto G Play (2022) Key Specifications

The Moto G Play (2022) is expected to flaunt a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1600 resolution. Beneath the display, the smartphone will likely draw power from the MediaTek Helio G37 chipset onboard the IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The chipset will be accompanied by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

In terms of camera, the Moto G Play (2022) is expected to house a triple camera setup at the back with a 16MP primary sensor, 2MP macro sensor, and 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it is likely to have a 5MP selfie camera. The smartphone is said to be fueled by a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging capabilities.
