Motorola has launched the Moto G100 smartphone in the global market. It is a rebranded version of the Moto Edge S that had debuted in China in January this year. The Moto G100 retains the same specifications and features as the Chinese variant.
The Lenovo-owned brand has introduced a ‘Ready For’ platform that offers a desktop-like interface once the smartphone is connected to an external monitor or TV. The Moto G100 is shipped with a docking station that is equipped with a built-in cooling system.
Moto G100 specifications and features
On the display front, the Moto G100 comes with a 6.7-inch IPS LCD screen bearing an FHD+ resolution and two punch-hole cutouts. It features a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support. Design-wise, the Moto G100 houses a square-shaped camera module and a Moto logo on the back. A fingerprint scanner is embedded in the power button.
The Moto G100 sports a quad-camera setup comprising a 64MP main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 16MP ultra-wide lens that also doubles up as a macro shooter, a 2MP depth unit and a ToF module. The punch-hole cutout on the front houses a 16MP primary camera paired with a 8MP ultra-wide sensor.
The Moto G100 houses a Snapdragon 870 SoC processor with an integrated X55 modem under the hood. Itw packs 8GB RAM and offers up to 256GB onboard storage expandable via a microSD card slot. The smartphone draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 20W fast charging. It runs Android 11 out of the box.
The Moto G100 comes with connectivity options like a USB-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, USB-C port, 5G, 4G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth and GPS.
Moto G100 pricing and availability
The Moto G100 starts at €449 (~Rs 38,479) for the base 8GB + 128GB variant. The smartphone is offered in Iridescent Sky, Iridescent Ocean and Slate Grey colours. It will be available for purchase in European and Latin America markets starting today. India availability is not known yet.
