The Moto G31 has gone official as Motorola’s latest mid-range phone in India. It has arrived to rival 4G phones priced around Rs 12,000 in India. Some of its major rivals include the Xiaomi Redmi 10 Prime, Realme Narzo 50A, and Samsung Galaxy M12.
These smartphones come with AMOLED and LCD panels that offer a high refresh rate and they are powered by mid-range SoCs. The handsets come with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. They are backed by massive batteries that carry support for fast charging. For photography, these smartphones offer up to 50-megapixel primary cameras. The Moto G31 has arrived in two options such as 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage in India. These models are priced at Rs 12,999 and Rs 13,999, respectively. It comes in two colours such as Meteorite Grey and Sterling Blue.
The Redmi 10 Prime comes in two configurations such as 4GB RAM + 64GB for Rs 12,499 and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage for Rs 14,499. Buyers can avail it in colours such as Astral White, Bitfrost Blue, and Phantom Black.
The Realme Narzo 50A comes in 64GB and 128GB storage choices. Both models have 4GB of RAM. They are priced at Rs 11,499 and Rs 12,499, respectively. It comes in Oxygen Blue and Oxygen Green colours.
The Samsung Galaxy M12 comes in two variant such as 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. They are priced at Rs 11,499 and Rs 13,499, respectively. It comes in black, white, and blue colours.
While the Redmi 10 Prime has been priced Rs 1,000 more than the Narzo 50A and Galaxy M12, it offers several unmatched features that are unavailable on these phones. Hence, the Redmi 10 Prime has been decided as the winner in the pricing segment.

The Moto G31 and Redmi 10 Prime have a punch-hole display, whereas the Narzo 50A and Galaxy M12 are fitted with a teardrop notch screen. The G31 is the only phone among the four to feature an AMOLED panel. It has a 6.4-inch display that offers a 60Hz refresh rate. The Redmi 10 Prime has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It also offers Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the display.
The Narzo 50A has an IPS LCD display that offers an HD+ resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and 570 nits of brightness. On the other hand, the Galaxy M12 has a 6.5-inch PLS TFT LCD screen that produces an HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Moto G31 and Narzo 50A are powered by the Helio G85 chipset. The Redmi 10 Prime features the Helio G88, which is an updated version of the G85. Samsung’s in-house 8nm chipset, the Exynos 850 is present under the hood of the Galaxy M12.
The Narzo 50A is available in a single 4GB RAM option only, whereas the other three phones come in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants. Among these models, the Redmi 10 Prime and Narzo 50A are equipped with LPDDR4x type of RAM. Motorola and Samsung haven’t confirmed the type of RAM that is available on the G31 and M12 handsets. All four phones come in 64GB and 128GB storage choices. It appears that these devices are equipped with an eMMC 5.1 type of internal storage.
The Motorola phone ships with My UX based Android 11, which offers a near stock experience of Android OS. The other three phones also come preinstalled with Android 11. The Redmi, Realme, and Samsung phones come with their version of custom UI such as MIUI, Realme UI, and One UI, respectively.
The 12nm Helio G88 and G85 chipsets are almost identical when it comes to GPU and CPU performance. AnTuTu benchmarks have revealed the Helio G85/G88 offers better performance than the Exynos 850 SoC.
