Moto G4 and G4 Plus Gets Android 7.0 Nougat Update In India, Details Inside

As the reports were already flowing that Motorola had begun the testing of Moto G4 Plus with Android 7.0 Nougat update. Now, the company has officially announced the release of Nougat update for Moto G4 and G4 Plus smartphones.

The company announced on its website today regarding the improvements this update will bring to your phone. This update also comes with new multitasking features, more efficient notification controls and improved data saver and battery features. The announcement page also includes the instructions for the successful installation of the update.

To recall, Google had officially launched the Android Nougat in August this year which so far has made its way to the Nexus devices only. Moto was the first to announce the Android Nougat update to select smartphones. The company also said that they are dispatching the updates in patches and haven’t prioritized them in any order. This seems to be true as the Moto G4 we have in the house is not running on Nougat and still showing up to date.

It is also worth noting that Motorola didn’t provide the update to Moto G Turbo and Moto G3 which were launched in last year. Both the phone came with Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box and received only one update to Android Marshmallow. It is quite surprising and disappointing at the same time for Moto G3 and Moto Turbo owners who were expecting the Nougat update.

Here’s the list of Moto device which will be getting Android Nougat update in coming days.

Moto G Play (4th Gen)
Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen)
Moto X Style
Moto X Play
Moto X Force
Droid Turbo 2
