Moto G42 has launched in India today. The smartphone had already debuted in the international markets. The Indian variant comes with the same specifications as its global counterpart.

The Moto G42 is a budget offering and we were hoping it to be sub-Rs 12,000 price bracket. However, the company has decided to keep the price slightly higher. It competes against the likes of the Redmi Note 11, Realme 9i, Vivo T1 44W, and others in the market. Read on to know what the smartphone offers out of the box.

The Moto G42 is offered in a single RAM and storage configuration, which is 4GB+64GB and can be purchased for Rs 13,999. It can be purchased in Metallic Rose and Atlantic Green colours.

The Moto G42 sports a centre-aligned punch-hole pOLED display measuring 6.4-inches and bearing an FHD+ resolution. The device features a boxy form factor and the power button doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. It is also IP52-rated water-resistant. On the audio front, the smartphone is equipped with dual stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos.
In the imaging department, the Moto G42 comes with triple rear cameras. The setup comprises a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro unit. Up front, there is a 16MP selfie snapper.
Under the hood, the Moto G42 is equipped with a Snapdragon 680 processor. It packs 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage with support for microSD card slot. The smartphone draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 20W fast charging. Software-wise, the device ships with Android 12 with assured upgrade to Android 13 and three years of security updates.
