Motorola yesterday expanded its line of ‘G series’ smartphones at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona. The company unveiled new mid-range phones — Moto G5 and G5 Plus — during the recent press conference. The company’s India unit, meanwhile, confirmed that the Moto G5 Plus will land in India on March 15th. The tweet reads: “You either get a flaunt-worthy phone or a fast processor. #WhyCompromise when you can get both? Wait for the #MotoG5Plus. Arriving on 15/03.”
In terms of the specifications of the Moto G5 Plus, it boasts of a 5.2-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection layered on top. Powering the smartphone is a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU for graphics. It comes in three variants — 2GB RAM with 32GB internal memory, 3GB RAM with 32GB internal memory, and 4GB RAM with 64GB internal memory. The storage, however, is expandable up to 128GB through microSD.

The Moto G5 Plus runs Google’s most recent Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. In terms of the camera, it houses a 12MP rear snapper with dual-tone LED flash, dual-pixel autofocus, and 4K video recording. Up front is a 5MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. The device comes with water repellent nano-coating and a front-mounted fingerprint scanner. It measures 150.2 x 74 x 7.7 mm and weighs 155 g. The phone is based on a 3000mAh battery with Turbo Charging and connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (dual-band), Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS.
The Moto G5 Plus is expected to be priced at somewhere around Rs 15,000. It comes in File Gold and Lunar Gray colour options.
