Moto G6, G6 Plus and G6 Play Fresh Renders Appear; Design, Specs and Pricing Revealed

Lenovo-owned Motorola is reportedly working on Moto G6 series of smartphones. Motorola had included the G4 Play phone in the Moto G4 series that it had introduced in 2016, but it did not release Moto G5 Play in 2017. Well-known tipster, Evan Blass had claimed last year that the Moto G6 family arriving in  2018 would include Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play smartphones. Droid-Life and MySmartPrice have revealed renders of the upcoming Moto G6 series phones along with their key details.

Unlike the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones that came with metallic chassis, the upcoming Moto G6 series smartphones will be sporting metal and glass design. The renders of Moto G6, G6 Plus and G6 Play shows that their rear design resembles with the Moto X4. All the three smartphones feature “motorola” branding on their chin and a batwing-like M logo on their rear.

Moto G6 Plus

The Moto G6 Plus is expected to house a 5.93-inch display that will be supporting full HD+ resolution (2160 x 1080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Snapdragon 630 may power the Moto G6 Plus. It is expected to come in RAM options like 3 GB, 4 GB and 6 GB and internal storage choices like 32 GB and 64 GB.



For photography, it is expected to house a dual-LED flash enabled 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup. It has a selfie camera of 16-megapixel that is equipped with an LED flash. The fingerprint scanner is embedded under the thin-sized capacitive home button at the front. It includes a secondary microphone, 3.5mm audio jack, USB-C port and 3,200mAh battery. The phone is likely to arrive in color options such as Black, Dark Teal and Silver and carry a pricing of $330.

Moto G6

Like the advanced Moto G6 Plus, the Moto G6 is also a full screen design smartphone. It houses a 5.7-inch display that supports Full HD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It also features a thin home button below the display that is integrated with a fingerprint scanner. The Snapdragon 450 chipset is speculated to power its 32 GB and 64 GB storage models that will respectively feature 3 GB and 4 GB of RAM.

The Moto G6 is expected to house the same rear-facing and front-mounted cameras that are available on the G6 Plus smartphone. The front and rear cameras are enabled with LED flash. Other features include secondary microphone, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port and a smaller battery of 2,800mAh capacity. The Moto G6 is speculated to come in color options like Black and Silver, it will and carry a price tag of $240.

Moto G6 Play

The Moto G6 Play is expected to come with a 5.7-inch HD resolution supporting display and may support a traditional aspect ratio of 16:9. It does not feature a front-facing fingerprint scanner. It appears that the fingerprint sensor is embedded in the Moto logo located on the rear.

The G6 Play has a dedicated LED flash for the selfie camera. Unlike the Moto G6 and G6 Plus phones, it lacks a dual camera setup on the rear. It will be housing a huge battery of 4,000mAh capacity. It may arrive in colors like Dark Charcoal, Deep Blue and Gold. There is no information available on the other specifications and pricing of the Moto G6 Play.

Motorola had launched the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017. Hence, it is speculated that the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play will be officially announced at MWC 2018 that will be held in February end at Barcelona, Spain.
