Lenovo-owned Motorola has launched the third smartphone in its Moto G6 series. The device is dubbed as the G6 Plus. The Moto G6 and G6 Play were launched in India in June 2018. In terms of technical specifications, the G6 Plus is the top variant in the series. Let’s find out what this device offers out of the box:
Display & Design:
Beginning with the display, the Moto G6 Plus flaunts a large 5.9-inch screen bearing Full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The display is shielded with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for accidental damage and scratches. Design-wise, the G6 Plus flaunts a glass and metal unibody build. The fingerprint scanner on this device is embedded in the home button located below the display.
In the photography department, the Moto G6 Plus houses a dual rear camera setup comprising of 12MP(f/1.7) and 5MP(f/2.2) sensors accompanied by dual tone LED flash. The camera features Dual Pixel phase detection technology that aids in clicking better photos in low light. The camera software offers various features and modes like white balance setting, exposure compensation, digital zoom, ISO, scene mode. For selfie enthusiasts, there is a 16MP sensor fitted on the front along with LED flash. The front camera also offers a face recognition feature for unlocking the device. The G6 Plus offers video recording in Full HD (1080p) resolution. Moto has integrated Google Lens in its camera UI that detects objects.
Hardware & OS:
Under the hood, the Moto G6 Plus is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor clocked at 2.2GHz. It packs 6GB RAM and an Adreno 508 graphics processor onboard. In terms of storage, the device offers 64GB of inbuilt memory. For additional storage it can be expanded up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. Motorola phones run on stock Android and this one is no exception, the G6 Plus runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The device is slated to receive Android 9.0 Pie in the coming months.
Battery & Connectivity:
The Moto G6 Plus draws its power from a 3,200 mAh battery unit. It is complemented with Turbo Charge support for fast charging. The G6 Plus features a USB Type-C port for charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack for connecting audio accessories. The device offers dual SIM functionality. All the basic connectivity options like 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC are supported on this device.
Pricing & Availability:
The Moto G6 Plus bears a price tag of Rs 22,499. The device will go on sale from today via Amazon and Moto Hub offline retail outlets.
