On: February 4, 2020

Lenovo-owned Motorola is hosting an event on February 23rd at the upcoming MWC in Barcelona. The brand’s upcoming G-series smartphones i.e. G8 and G8 Power were leaked recently. The G8 lineup already consists of G8 Plus and G8 Play that were launched last October, with the former making its way to India. Now, the Moto G8 Power has surfaced on the benchmarking website, Geekbench. The listing confirms the existence of the smartphone and also reveals some key specifications. Apart from this, Motorola is also rumoured to announce a stylus smartphone at the event dubbed as the Moto G Stylus.

As per the Geekbench listing, the Moto G8 Power is expected to be equipped with a Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.8GHz. As per the previous leak, it may be the Snapdragon 665 SoC. The device scores 311 in the single-core test and 1352 points in the multi-core test. The listing also reveals 4GB RAM, although we expect more RAM and storage configurations at the launch. Out of the box, the Moto G8 Power will run stock Android 10, like earlier Moto phones.

The Geekbench listing doesn’t reveal any more information about the upcoming smartphone. However, based on the recent leaks, the G8 Power will feature a 6.36-inch punch-hole display bearing FHD+ resolution. The display is surrounded by slim bezels with a thick bottom chin and there is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The smartphone is expected to sport quad-rear cameras comprising of a 16MP main sensor, 8MP wide-angle lens, an 8MP shooter and a 2MP macro camera. In the front, the device may feature a 25MP selfie snapper. The G8 Power is tipped to be backed by a massive 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 18W charging. The smartphone is expected to arrive in Black and Dark Blue colour options.

We will get official details from Motorola as we get closer to the launch event.
