Moto G9 with Snapdragon 662 and 5,000mAh battery launched in India: price, specifications

Motorola’s Moto G8 series include various phones such as the Moto G8, Moto G8 Plus, Moto G8 Power, and Moto G8 Power Lite. However, India received only the Moto G8 Power Lite (review) and Moto G8 Plus phones. Today, the Lenovo-owned company has announced the Moto G9 smartphone in India. It is the first phone in India to feature the Snapdragon 662 mobile platform that Qualcomm had announced at the beginning of this year.

The Moto G9 comes with 48-megapixel triple rear cameras and a massive battery with fast charging capabilities. The device is also equipped with a large-sized display and a dedicated Google Assistant button.

Motorola Moto G9 debuts as India’s first Snapdragon 662 powered smartphone

The Moto G9 features a 6.5-inch Max Vision IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch. It offers HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels and 20:9 aspect ratio. According to Motorola, the Moto G9 delivers a screen-to-body ratio of 87 percent. The phone features a water-repellant chassis.

The Snapdragon 662 chipset is at the helm of the device, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. It has a microSD card slot for expanding the storage further. The handset promises a stock Android experience through its My UX-based Android 10.

The Moto G9 Plus has a front-facing 8-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture. The rear shell of the phone has a square-shaped camera module above the fingerprint sensor. The setup includes a 48-megapixel main camera with f/1.7 aperture, Quad Pixel technology, and Night Vision support. The main camera is coupled with a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Moto G9 offers camera features such as auto smile capture, high-resolution zoom, hyper-lapse, 120fps slow-motion video, and Google Lens.

The 5,000mAh battery of the Moto G9 promises two days of battery life. Moreover, the phone carries support for 20W TurboPower fast charging. The handset is equipped with other features such as dedicated Google Assistant button, dual SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, USB-C, face recognition, dual microphones, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Moto G9 price in India

The Motorola Moto G9 is priced at Rs 11,499 and will go on sale via Flipkart at 12pm on August 31st. It will be available in a choice of Forest Green and Sapphire Blue colours.
