Motorola has launched its latest Moto G-series smartphone in India called the Moto G9. The Moto G9 comes packing all the usual goodies, including a stock Android interface and dedicated Google Assistant button. The Moto G9 is the first smartphone in India to be powered by the Snapdragon 662 mobile platform.

The new launch also features a waterdrop notch, 48-megapixel triple cameras and a beefy battery with fast charging. Motorola has priced the Moto G9 in India at Rs 11,499 and at this price point, the phone goes up against the likes of Realme Narzo 10 (review) and Redmi Note 9. Moto G9 vs Redmi Note 9 vs Realme Narzo 10: price in India
The Moto G9 has been launched in India in a single variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The phone is available in Forest Green and Sapphire Blue colours. The phone has been priced at Rs 11,499 and will go on sale starting August 31st on Flipkart.
The Realme Narzo 10 also comes in a single variant with 4GB RAM, but offers 128GB storage. The smartphone has been priced at Rs 11,999 and is being sold through flash sales on Realme.com and Flipkart. The handset is also available from offline retail stores.
The Redmi Note 9 clinches this round as it offers 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB variants, priced at Rs 11,999, Rs 13,499 and Rs 14,999, respectively. This gives buyers the flexibility to pick the variant that best suits their requirements. The smartphone can be picked up from Amazon, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores.

The Moto G9 ships with an IPS LCD panel measuring 6.5-inches. Motorola claims that the waterdrop notch display offers a screen-to-body ratio of 87 percent. The screen offers a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The Realme Narzo 10 also features a 6.5-inch waterdrop notch screen with HD+ resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The Redmi Note 9 also features the same dimensions and Gorilla Glass 3 but offers a sharper FHD+ resolution. It also stands out with its modern punch-hole design.

Moto G9 vs Redmi Note 9 vs Realme Narzo 10: performance and software
The Motorola Moto G9 is the first smartphone to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor. The 11nm octa-core processor comes with a 1.8GHz clock speed and Adreno 610 GPU. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 9 and Realme Narzo 10 are powered by MediaTek Helio gaming processors. The former is the first to feature MediaTek’s Helio G85, while the latter comes with the MediaTek Helio G80.
Coming to the configurations, the Moto G9 and Realme Narzo 10 come in a single variant with 4GB RAM. But while the former features 64GB storage, the latter offers double of that at 128GB. The Redmi Note 9 comes in 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB variants.
In the software department, all three smartphones boot Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top for Redmi Note 9 and Realme UI for the Narzo 10. The Moto G9 doesn’t have any proprietary interface on top and offers a near-stock Android experience, which is a plus.

The Redmi and Realme offerings get an upper hand in the optics department with their quad-camera modules. In comparison, the Moto G9 features a 48-megapixel triple camera setup on the back. The primary 48-megapixel primary lens is accompanied by a 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor. The Realme Narzo 10 and Redmi Note 9 also come with the same setup, but get an additional 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens as well.
As for selfies, The Moto G9 has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera housed inside its waterdrop notch. The Redmi Note 9 offers a higher-resolution 13-megapixel shooter on the front. But it’s the Realme Narzo 10 that wins the round with its 16-megapixel snapper.

The Motorola Moto G9 features a 5,000mAh battery with support for 20W TurboPower fast charging. The Realme Narzo 10 also features the same battery capacity but with slightly slower 18W fast charging. The Redmi Note 9 comes with a marginally bigger 5,020mAh battery, with 22.5W fast charging support.

In case you are looking for an affordable smartphone with a Snapdragon processor and stock Android operating system, the Moto G9 is the most value for money offering in the market now. However, if you are looking for a more modern design, punch-hole display, bigger battery and versatile cameras, the Redmi Note 9 is the clear winner here.
